I decided to start a blog today. I don't have a concrete reason why although I think I'm secretly hoping it will give me a daily motivational step to keep me focused and on my personal journey of rediscovery. I'm 39 years old now and until recently whenever I heard the phrase "found God" I would smile and inwardly comment "I didn't know he was lost." Regarding a relationship with God, I've been following a very misguided path in life. Let me give a quick rundown from the beginning.
I began going to Journey church initially because my mom and sister were regular attendees and had invited me to events. Every time I visited the church, I realized a completely new reaction -- I was actually enjoying a church. I got a happy energetic charge from the entire environment. I was basking in the energy of the congregation, the staff, the music and the messages being conveyed! It didn't take me long at all to open my heart to God and decide that I wanted to make Journey my church as well. Since joining Journey, I have opened my life, heart and will to Jesus. I am grateful daily for his guidance, love and will. I want to serve and honor God, my father, as I work on building and strengthening our relationship.
I had a wonderful meeting today with the Senior Pastor and Co-Pastor of Journey to get some feedback and guidance. I'm on an exploration of rediscovering myself and I'm happier then I've ever been. I invite you to follow my journey via this blog. This is going to be fun!
